Organized by the Mario Onaindia Foundation, the exhibition features more than thirty photographs accompanied by poetic texts and will be on display until October 27. Guided tours in both Basque and Spanish are available.

The images featured in the exhibition were captured by Teresa Ormazabal, with the selection personally overseen by Agustín Ibarrola himself. Taken in 2016 and 2017, the photographs portray the original version of the Oma Forest.

The poetic texts, presented in both Basque and Spanish, were written by Aritz Gorrotxategi, Pellio Otxoteko, Juan Ramón Makuso, Luisa Etxenike, Eli Tolaretxipi, Julia Otxoa, and Felipe Juaristi.

The Oma Forest is one of the most iconic works by artist Agustín Ibarrola (1930–2023). Visited by thousands over the decades, it has become a landmark of contemporary art in the Basque Country. Through this exhibition, Rialia Industria Museoa aims to bring the Oma Forest closer to local communities and introduce Agustín Ibarrola’s work to as many people as possible.

Agustín Ibarrola (1930–2023)

Agustín Ibarrola has long been a key figure in the art scene of the Left Bank, not only for his engagement with fellow local artists, but also for the central role industry and the working class played throughout his career. In fact, a work donated by the artist in 2006 can be seen on the museum’s third floor—a tribute to all working-class individuals.
