Metallographic Microscope
Metallography is a science that allows us to know the microscopic structure of metals. The metallographic microscope that you find in the exhibition dates from 1925, from the Ernest Leitz Wetzlar brand of Leica optics; it controlled the quality of the steels that were produced in the steelworks. You can find it located in the metallography laboratory in the photo on the left. On the office wall from the photo of the Zeiss microscope on the right, you have some samples like the ones we present here.
In the current microscope, we have four steel specimens and four cast iron specimens so that you can compare them under the microscope.
