Iron Ore Samples
In this space, we present the collection of iron ores from different parts of the world, and you will find a showcase with the collection of minerals from Altos Hornos de Vizcaya, with a wide variety of iron ores, from hematite to magnetite and slag.
They are accompanied by the Geological Map of the most important Iron Zone of Bizkaia, drawn up in 1892 by the mining engineer Ramón Adán de Yarza. It is an invaluable source of geological and cartographic information and helps to understand the distribution of mineral resources in the Triano mountains. You will also find an engraving from 1874, the “Map of the Carlist War Theater of the Northern Provinces”, drawn by Medrano that illustrates the mining railway lines built and under construction.
