Photo modules. Nr.1
This module presents three photographs provided by the Historical Archive of Euskadi of the Portuguese artist Juantxu Rodríguez (1957-1989), who, being a war photojournalist, died at the hands of the North American marines while covering the US invasion of Panama in 1989 for the newspaper El País, together with the journalist Maruja Torres. He left more than 25,000 photographs that are deposited in the Euskadi Archive. He worked for Deia, El País, La Vanguardia, Tribuna Vasca, Liberátion, Newsweek and The New York Times.
On the other side of the module, you will find a photograph by Portuguese photographer Diana Terceño, an audiovisual producer with one of the most detailed and elaborate archives of Portugalete and the Left Bank at the time.
In addition, there are four photographs of the interior of Altos Hornos, which the photojournalist Tamara Ruiz has donated to the Rialia Museum.
You will also find a night view of Altos Hornos de Vizcaya, in total activity, by photographer Jesús Ángel Miranda, National Photography Prize winner and Photo Press Prize winner. In 1992, together with Fidel Raso, he made Ezkerraldea, searching for traces of identity through 120 images on the Left Bank of the Nervión. They received the Gaudí Medal at the VII State Exhibition of Contemporary Photographic Art in Reus for this monographic work. The photograph has been lent to Rialia by EDEX.
