Rialia, Industria museo<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-md-6\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In 1879 Francisco de las Rivas y Ubieta, Marquis of Mudela, bought the land of the Carmelites, from the confiscation and the \u00abCantabrian Iron Co Limited\u00bb to install the factory \u00abSan Francisco del Desierto\u00bb.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>In 1882, the \u00abNuestra Se\u00f1ora del Carmen\u00bb factory was modernised. \u00abIbarra Hermanos y C\u00eda\u00bb became the \u00abSociedad Altos Hornos y F\u00e1bricas de hierro y acero de Bilbao\u00bb.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>In 1882 the brothers V\u00edctor and Benigno Chavarri Salazar and several partners formed the \u00abSociedad Metal\u00fargica y Construcciones La Vizcaya\u00bb which put into operation its blast furnaces in 1885.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The \u00abLa Iberia\u00bb tin plate factory was created in 1887 when the company \u00abGoitia y C\u00eda\u00bb was transformed into a public limited company, which was installed in 1887 on the land of \u00abLa Vizcaya\u00bb.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>On April 29, 1902, the \u00abAltos Hornos y F\u00e1bricas de hierro y acero de Bilbao\u00bb, \u00abSociedad Metal\u00fargica y Construcciones La Vizcaya\u00bb and \u00abLa Iberia\u00bb were merged, and the resulting company was renamed \u00abAltos Hornos de Vizcaya\u00bb, with a payroll of 6,139 jobs at that time.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>\u00abAltos Hornos de Vizcaya\u00bb acquired the \u00abSan Francisco del Desierto\u00bb factory in 1924.<\/p><br>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n<p><em>The merger of the large steel companies gave rise to a powerful and competitive company: \u00abAltos Hornos de Vizcaya\u00bb, which has been one of the cornerstones of the economy and society of Biscay throughout the twentieth century.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\t<hr>\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t<p><audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-2813-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/rialia.eus\/audio\/25-ahv_en.mp3?_=1\"><\/source><a href=\"https:\/\/rialia.eus\/audio\/25-ahv_en.mp3\">https:\/\/rialia.eus\/audio\/25-ahv_en.mp3<\/a><\/audio> \t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t  <\/p><\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Siderurgia.
